8. Mouse/Bird/Sausage

or “Eye Stew”

For this piece I wanted to work with language in a way that I have at times in the past. It is a messy and spontaneous approach, influenced by absurd and Surrealist notions. I took the syntax and rhythm of the words and substituted my own using the original story text as a place to begin. I do think there is some relationship to the original meaning in “The little Mouse the little Bird and the Sausage” but any correlation to the original tale is purely intuitive and mostly unconscious. This piece is pretty much nonsense, like a child at play.
